1 Day, 3 Countries
Our travels continue, and are taking us back eastwards across Europe at this point. Right now we have just finished an eventful day in Berlin.
Yesterday we left England by ship and arrived in France, and then took two more trains to arrive in Brussels, Belgium for the night. Its strange, I think both Desi and I left the most insecure in Brussels than anywhere else in Europe. There were signs all over the train stations and subway stations warning us of pitpockets, and one of our fellow hostel patrons was telling us he had his wallet stolen. The streets seemed too quiet and I had the feeling we were being watched. Anyhow, we made it through without a scratch and onto Germany once again.
Today we visited the Berlin Wall, and a few other interesting buildings. We stumbled across a small local festival where different booths were set up selling beer from Berlin and local foods, where we stopped for a beer and then around the corner to a nice restaurant for dinner. Germany is definitely a nice place to visit, just wish we had more time here.
There has been much that I haven’t written about, especially our adventures through southern Germany, France, and England. Running out of time now, but here’s a taste:
Germany: Went to Füssen, saw an amazing castle (two, actually). amazing day
France: Not really impressed. The city has a graffiti and vandalism problem and the locals are quite arrogant. Fewest English-speaking people in all of Europe. Beautiful, though. Oh, and we couldn’t get up on the Eiffel Tower because our bags were too big. Go figure.
England: Took the channel tunnel there and a ship back, but its very expensive. Visited the Imperial War Museum which was fun and eye-opening, and took a ride on the London Eye which was a blast.
There is so much more to talk about, and sadly no way again to upload photos. Desi has been keeping a journal of every day’s events, which I will use as a starting point for blog entries about each day and sight we have seen for all to see. She has also been drawing beautiful sketches in the same book on the train, which I will showcase here at some point as well.
All in all, we’re really enjoying our travels. So many stories, all in so little time that it all starts to blur together. Quite a thrill, and it isn’t over yet. We’ll update you again when we can, *hopefully* with photos. Cross your fingers!
Oh, and thanks to everyone who continues to comment on the posts. All of your continued support is really making us happy over here, knowing that everyone back home is thinking about us.
The adventure continues, to Prague tomorrow!

Hi Don & Desi
We will continue to follow your travels. So pleased that you both are enjoying all places. My most favorite place was Praque. I agree on your assessment of Paris {France}. always a lot of graffiti , plus other things.
Keep up the safe travelling. we will keep you both in our prayers.

HEY DON AND DESI,
oh well, next time haha!
Wow, once again this sounds incredible. I can’t wait to see photos. Sounds like the two of you are really enjoying each experience you come across. I can’t believe you couldn’t go to the Eiffel tower

Hi Desi and Don
Ditto on the jounal Desi-great idea, can’t wait to review the trip with you in person. Well, I guess since you weren’t able to get up on the tower, you will have to go back. Cest la vie! That is probably incorrectly spelt, you know what I mean though.
Your progress sounds wonderful, can’t wait to hear more about Prague. You made my German heart proud, Grossmama’s too, Germany is very wonderful, my most fav. places of all “to eat that is” I still hold out for Krakow Poland. Will you get there? If so, look for the underground restaurants and pubs.
Looking forward to your next note. So glad you got on the “London Eye”
