Sunset worth remembering

Ah! Forgot a photo. Found this one along with the last batch of photos and I really liked it. This is a photo from Vale Inco’s Thompson mine in Thompson, Manitoba at sunset. Enjoy!

Worldly Photos

As I had mentioned in my previous post, I was looking for some time to scan some of my dad’s photos from around the world. I came across some beautiful vistas and some great animal photos from Africa that I’m sure my dad was proud of. I thought I’d share them!

Mining and mountains

The animal pics were fantastic too! He had most of these photos all inĀ  the same album, and probably his favourite was this giraffe picture, as it was stuck in the very front:

Hopefully I’ll have time to dig a little deeper and find some more photos later, but in the mean-time check out the gallery below of what I’ve found so far. I’ve always marvelled at these photos ever since he had them printed. Many of my dad’s travels resulted in fantastic stories and images, and as a child hearing them always intruiged me and sparked my imagination.

Looking through photos

While making a futile attempt to clean my room recently, I came across my box of photos and thought I’d look through some of it. I came across one photo taken by my father that I really quite liked. I’m going to assume this is Onaping Lake, though I don’t know when or exactly what island is in the photo. Regardless, it is beautiful and I wanted to share it.

Island in the mist

I found a bunch of scenic vistas from worldly places that I’ll post when I have time to scan them, too.

Update: Just got off the phone with aunt Cathy and we had a wonderful talk. I showed her this photo and she says that its the island right next to David’s Island. He might have even taken the photo from “his” island, or a boat drifting beside it. She also mentioned that he named it too, but can’t recall the name at the moment. Any ideas?
